First-Time Guide

Everything you need to know before your first Botox or Xeomin treatment

Thinking About Your First Treatment?

If you're considering Botox or Xeomin for the first time, it's completely normal to feel curious, cautious, or even a little nervous. This guide is designed to walk you through what to expect and help you feel informed and confident.

Both Botox and Xeomin are appropriate for first-time patients when approached conservatively and thoughtfully. The goal isn't to freeze your face—it's to help you look refreshed, rested, and like the best version of yourself.

Why First-Time Patients Choose Neuromodulators

Look More Rested

Soften the tired, stressed appearance without looking "done"

Prevent Deeper Lines

Stop wrinkles from becoming permanently etched over time

Subtle Enhancement

Achieve natural improvement without dramatic change

Starting earlier doesn't mean more aggressive treatment—it usually means lighter, more subtle dosing that maintains your natural expression.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Before Treatment

  • Facial assessment evaluating expression, muscle movement, and symmetry
  • Discussion of your goals, concerns, and aesthetic preferences
  • Education on realistic expectations and treatment options

During Treatment

  • Treatment typically takes 10–20 minutes
  • A very fine needle is used—most patients feel only a quick pinch
  • Minimal discomfort; numbing cream available if desired

After Treatment

  • Mild redness or swelling may occur temporarily
  • Return to normal activities immediately
  • Avoid rubbing the area and exercise for 24 hours

Common First-Time Concerns

"Will I look frozen?"
No. A conservative, balanced approach preserves your natural expression. We use subtle dosing designed to soften—not freeze.
"What if I don't like it?"
Neuromodulators are temporary. Results fade over time, typically 3–4 months. If you don't love it, it will gradually wear off.
"Will people notice?"
Most people notice you look refreshed—not treated. The goal is enhancement so natural that others simply think you look well-rested.
"Is it painful?"
Discomfort is minimal and brief—usually just a quick pinch. We use very fine needles and can apply numbing cream if you prefer.

How Often Will You Need Treatments?

Most patients maintain results with treatments every 3–4 months, though frequency varies based on individual muscle activity and goals.

With regular treatments, many patients find they can extend the time between appointments—as muscles become trained to relax.
